About Rick’s Journey
Rick Killpack was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 1988 by Dr. Alex Kopelowics at Los Angeles California Hospital. After struggling through much of his 20s, he began to find balance after regaining his confidence through counseling, reading, medication, exercise, family support, and his Faith. It took a combination of all these practices in a holistic balance approach to get his life back on track.
After over 30 years living with Bipolar illness, it is now his life’s mission to assist others suffering from bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety, allowing them to find a healthy, balanced life beyond the diagnosis of mental illness.
Rick has served on the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) for psychiatric emergencies in Summit County, Utah. He’s a Mental Health advocate and wrote the documentary series American Mood Swing. He is certified as a peer support specialist in Utah. He is an author of the Bipolar booklet and Put God First: A Guide to Gratitude. He created the American Mood Swing project, which includes a documentary series, a podcast, and a YouTube channel focused on relevant, timely Mental Health topics. He is the Co-Founder of the ChristianPeerNetwork.org and a founding member of the SummitCountyClubhouse.org.
Professionally , he has worked on the Television shows Fraiser, NCIS, Star Trek and others as a computer manager. He has been recognized as a top recruiter for a business college as well as other work in sales and marketing.
He actively lives his faith in Jesus Christ and his a dedicated volunteer at Mountain Life Church in Park City.
